Creativity truly knowns no age limits. At 103 years old, Ralph Conte, continues to nurture his lifelong passion for photography. His granddaughter says he “still has an eye for a sharp picture.” She goes on to say that’s he is quite tech-savvy, posting his photos on social media, using his Apple watch, and editing his own photos. With his love for photography, family, and faith, Ralph has lead what you might call a picture perfect life.

Still at It

A World War II veteran who was drafted in 1942, Conte served in the 94th Infantry, earning a Purple Heart. After the war, he began capturing moments on film and, in 1958, established Conte Studios in Bergenfield, New Jersey. Decades later, his passion remains undiminished.

Even now, Conte enjoys taking photos, particularly at North Carolina’s Biltmore Estate.

Conte’s journey from soldier to photographer is marked by a dedication to his craft that spans over seventy years. His work has earned him numerous accolades and the admiration of his family and peers. His unique blend of old-school expertise and modern technology underscores his adaptability and relentless creativity. Living independently in South Carolina, Conte remains active, snapping photos of the Carolinas and selling his classic freelance pictures

Despite the loss of his wife, Veronica, in 2007, Conte continues to lead a life filled with purpose and creativity, finding joy in his photography and the love of his expanding family. His granddaughter says that her grandfather’s enthusiasm and gratitude for life’s moments influence her daily. Ralph’s story is one that will surely put a smile on your face.
